Our holiday cottage is situated on the edge of the Lake District near to the Yorkshire Dales. The centre of Kendal is just 3 miles and Sedburgh 8 miles. We are handy for the M6 (junction 36 & 37) and the West Coast main railway line (Oxenholme Station).
The cottage has stunning views across the open countryside and takes advantage of the sunshine from dawn til dusk.
The barn is reached by taking a farm track from the road. We are a 15 minute walk from the railway station so easily reached by car or on foot. It is no longer a working farm although the fields surrounding the barn have stock in them for most of the year.
The Staion Inn, our local pub, is only a 10 minute walk and specialises in good food with a varied menu and selection of beers and wines. Kendal has three large supermarkets, the nearest being Asda, which is only a 5 minute drive.
The cottage is detached and has parking for two cars. We only live across the yard so are on hand when you arrive and to answer any queries you may have during your stay. Otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace.
The parking area leads into the south facing garden which overlooks the surrounding fields. It has a seating area with slate paddle stones and terraced lawn areas with mature shrubs. The seating area has a table & chairs plus parasol and cushions for extra comfort.
This is the south facing view from the holiday cottage, overlooking the garden to the fields beyond. There is only one other neighbour just to the left of the garden but the planting makes it a quiet secluded area.
The entrance to the holiday cottage is approached from the gravel area of the garden. It is a first floor flat, to make the most of the views, but there is no need to worry about being disturbed from below as the space is unoccupied.
Unfortunately, being upstairs it is unsuitable for less mobile adults and also children.
